Tour Plan
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, and after immigration and customs, you’ll meet our Professional Mountain Guide, who will assist you with your luggage. Drive approximately 50 minutes to Arusha and check in at Outpost Lodge for an overnight stay. (Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast)

After breakfast, transfer to Nare Moru Village (6,500ft) to start the trek. Walk through cultivated lands and pine forests before reaching Simba Campsite (2626m) for camping. (Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Continue trekking via the second cave, enjoying stunning views of Kibo and the eastern ice fields on the crater rim. Reach Kikelwa Camp (3679m) for overnight camping. (Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

- Distance: Approximately 3.7 km

Depart after breakfast for Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4303m). Spend the afternoon acclimatizing and exploring the surroundings. (Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

- Habitat: Alpine Desert
Cross the “Saddle” lunar desert between Mawenzi and Kibo to reach the campsite at the base of Kibo Crater. The remainder of the day is for rest and preparation for the final ascent. (Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
- Hiking time: 7-8 hours to summit, 6-8 hours descent to Horombo
- Distance: Approximately 5.4 km ascent, 15 km descent
Begin the summit attempt around midnight, heading towards Stella Point and then to Uhuru Peak. Witness a magnificent sunrise from the peak before descending to Kibo Hut for a brief rest and refreshments. Continue down to Horombo Hut for overnight camping. (Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

After breakfast, descend to Marangu Gate, where transport will be waiting to take you back to Arusha for an overnight stay at Outpost Lodge. (Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast)
After breakfast, depart for Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your flight home, depending on flight time.
Mount Kilimanjaro Final Checklist
Ensure you’re well-prepared for a successful summit attempt. The checklist below outlines essential items for your climb. Your duffel bag (to be carried by porters) should weigh 15 kg (32 lbs) or less, while any additional luggage can be left at your accommodation.
